The tie bar is long enough to capture a medium wide tie without looking out of place and the grip is strong so it does not slip off the shirt. I bought two sets of dfferent colors, the dark blue shown and a turquoise. The price was quite reasonable as they were apparently being cleared out. I am a cashier and my cufflinks snag on the bags as I bag merchandise. I have lost a couple of cufflinks and a tie bar. I wanted a set that if I lost them it would not be a financial hit but I also wanted a set which would look good. These sets satisfy both of these needs.
